In 1998 we began the journey of a lifetime, traveling over 5,000 miles round-trip in our van with popup camper in tow. As the landscape unfolded before us we began to embrace the life of the wanderer, moving from place to place without settling down. Loading the kids in the van, driving for days, setting up the camper, visiting local sites, striking camp only to do it all over again at the next stop can be tiring for many, but for us there was always something magical about discovering what was waiting for us at the next stop. It is all about the experience, and planning for it takes time. Although the internet is much easier to navigate today than it was twenty-years ago, that does not necessarily make planning less difficult. So this journal is not solely dedicated to the experience of the journey, it is a testament to the planning that goes into putting a trip like this together. So join us in our family's journey as we travel there and back again.
